Covid Safety at The Lensic
As we return to gathering for live performances at The Lensic, we’re doing everything possible to keep our patrons, staff members, and performing artists healthy and comfortable. We appreciate your help in following the safety guidelines as we work together to keep everyone safe.
Starting August 1, The Lensic will be operating at 100 percent occupancy (all seats will be offered for sale). On this page we’ve outlined The Lensic’s public health protocols and procedures. We’ll make changes as needed throughout 2021, so please check this page regularly for updates.

Covid Safety Rules
Face masks are encouraged for everyone, but they are not required.
Wearing a face mask will help protect the health of others in our community who are not yet vaccinated. We will update our mask policies if conditions change.
We ask that patrons review their health status before attending a Lensic event. If you or anyone in your party is exhibiting symptoms of Covid, have been exposed to someone with Covid in the past two weeks, or has tested positive for Covid in the past two weeks, kindly postpone your visit. Refunds will be offered for health-related cancelations.
Starting August 1, The Lensic will be operating at normal capacity, with 100 percent of theater seats offered for sale at each event. July events will be held with seating at 50 to 75 percent capacity.
For the health and safety of everyone, any patron who is not following The Lensic’s most current Covid safety rules will need to leave the theater immediately. Ticket refunds will be not be offered to those asked to leave for Covid safety violations.
A Safe Environment
Air Circulation and Filtration
Thanks to our state-of-the-art ventilation system, air in the Lensic auditorium is completely replaced by fresh, filtered air every 13 minutes. Before flowing into the theater, outside air is run through a Merv 13 filter designed to capture aerosol particles as small as .3 to 1.0 microns, meeting safety standards set by the CDC and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
Enhanced Cleaning Procedures
All surface and high-touch areas in the auditorium, lobby, restrooms, and other public spaces are cleaned thoroughly before and after performances. We are maintaining a minimum of 24 hours between scheduled events to allow time for proper cleaning.
Hand Sanitizing Stations
The CDC continues to recommend frequent hand washing to prevent the spread of germs. You’ll find contact-free hand sanitizing stations, containing commercial-grade sanitizer, in the lobby and inside the auditorium.
Tickets may be purchased online or by telephone (no in-person box office sales).
For Events Taking Place Before August 1: When you purchase tickets or reserve seats, you’ll be asked to select your preferred seating section. Our box office will assign you seats within or as close to that section as possible, and you will receive your tickets by email.
For Events Taking Place After August 1: Patrons can select their own seats or let the automated system assign them the best available seats.
You will receive your tickets via email and be asked to print them at home or present them digitally on a mobile device (barcode visible) on the day of your Lensic event. Ticket scanners are set up in the lobby, so patrons can scan their own tickets when they enter the theater. Please note: While WiFi service is available in the lobby, we recommend that you take a screenshot of your tickets, with barcodes, for faster scanning.
The Day of Your Event
Contact-free ticket scanners are set up in the lobby. You may be asked to scan your own tickets—on paper, if you printed them at home, or by showing the ticket barcode on your phone or other mobile device.
No Eating or Drinking
No food or drink is permitted in the lobby or auditorium. The Lensic’s bar service is temporarily closed. We plan to reopen it later this summer.
