Santa Fe Jewish Center-Chabad
Anne Frank's Stepsister Eva Schloss
Santa Fe Jewish Center – Chabad presents: Triumph and Hope, an Historic Event with Anne Frank’s childhood friend and stepsister, Holocaust Survivor Eva Schloss.
Anne Frank escaped Germany to Amsterdam with her family.
Eva Schloss escaped Austria to Amsterdam with her family. they lived in the same apartment block.
Just one month apart in age, they became friends. In July 1942, both of their families went into hiding from the Nazis. Eventually both girls and their families were deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp. Eva and her mother survived, Anne did not, but her father did.
After the Holocaust, Eva and her mother reconnected with Otto Frank and helped him publish his daughter’s diary. Eventually they married.
90-year-old Eva has recounted her experiences in more than one thousand speaking engagements, written three books and had a play written about her life.
While her story is a difficult one, her message is one of triumph and hope! How to rebuild after disaster.
Don’t miss this once in a lifetime experience!
