Performance Santa Fe
Festival of Song Emily Fons and Jack Swanson with Robert Tweten

“Dynamite” (Theater Jones) mezzo-soprano Emily Fons joins “captivating” (Le Salon Musical) tenor Jack Swanson for our final installment of Festival of Song. A versatile and powerful artistic voice, Emily Fons has been universally lauded for her portrayals of both “trouser roles” and dramatic leads— Cherubino and Susana all in one! Notably, Fons recently received a Grammy nomination for her work on Jennifer Higdon’s Cold Mountain. Lauded as “the perfect male lead” by the St. Louis Dispatch, Jack Swanson’s charisma, talent, and artistry is undeniable, evidenced by his appearances with the Norwegian Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and more. Beyond opera, Swanson is known for his interpretation of the works of Leonard Bernstein, appearing in recitals honoring the composer with the Orchestre National de Lille and the Moab Music Festival. This won’t be your only chance to see the two perform together this summer— Fons and Swanson will play star-crossed lovers Rosina and Count Almaviva in the Santa Fe Opera’s production of The Barber of Seville. Don’t miss your chance to see them in an intimate recital setting for the final installment of Festival of Song.
PSF’s Festival of Song presents rising and established stars of the opera world in intimate one-hour recitals at the Scottish Rite Temple. Each performance is followed by a reception in the Grand Ballroom where you are invited to meet the artists over drinks and desserts.
