Conductor John Storgårds leads an ensemble of Festival musicians in an early-20th-century masterpiece—Schoenberg’s pivotal Chamber Symphony No. 1—on a program that also includes Haydn’s String Quartet in G Major, Op. 77, No. 1 (one of his last such works), and Arensky’s dark-hued Quartet in A Minor, written by the young composer as an homage to Tchaikovsky after his death.
