Manahatta

Presented in partnership with Silver Bullet Productions
A fully-staged reading with costumes and background visuals of a timely drama by celebrated playwright Mary Kathryn Nagle, and directed by Maura Dhu Studi. Manahatta shows how history repeats itself with devastating consequences.

A rising star at her Wall Street firm, Jane sees how patterns of commercial exploit and cultural eradication begun when Peter Minuit “purchased” Manahatta Island from the Lenape continues as her indigenous Oklahoma family struggle to save their language, their culture, and their over-mortgaged home in the 2008 housing crisis.
