Originally built in the 1930s as motion picture house, The Lensic remains a favorite venue to watch Big Screen Classics or the latest The Met: Live in HD and National Theatre Live HD broadcasts.
Film and Screening Capabilities
- 35mm film on 20 minute reels with two matched Simplex 35mm film transports
- lamp houses with xenon lamps
- 1:33 through CinemaScope lenses.
- Sound: analog optical with a Dolby 5.1 CP65
Projectors
We have 3 digital projector options. From the projection booth we have our Panasonic PT-DZ21KU HD DLP projector, primarily used for our simulcasts of The Met: Live in HD and NT Live in HD. From the balcony rail we have a Panasonic PT-DW10000U HD DLP, this is ideal for projections used during more traditional stage performances. Both the PT-DZ21KU and the PT-DW100000U are permanently installed in their locations. We also have a Panasonic PT-EX600U that is mounted upstage to be used primarily for rear projection. This projector can be relocated throughout the theater. 5.1 Digital sound can be Toslink,coaxial digital, or stereo left and right through our Dolby CP-750 electronic cinema interface.
The screen size is 34’4″ X 15’8″ with integral manual adjustable masking hard flats. We have an OPPO-105 BDP Blu-ray player that will play both blu-ray and DVD discs. We have a digital switcher to integrate multiple HDMI, DVI, VGA, BNC, S-Video, component and composite inputs.
