Lensic & the Santa Fe Opera
Ailyn Pérez in Concert
Ailyn Pérez takes center stage as she returns to Santa Fe after her triumphant performances in Rusalka at the Santa Fe Opera. Hailed by The New York Times as “a major soprano,” Pérez brings her signature artistry to an intimate performance on the Lensic stage.
In demand at the world’s leading opera houses and cultural capitals, Pérez breaks boundaries and breathes a new perspective into some of the most challenging title roles in the canon. Notable engagements include performances at Teatro alla Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, Opernhaus Zürich, Teatro di San Carlo, the Hamburgische Staatsoper, Staatsoper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, San Francisco Opera, the Royal Opera House – Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, The Dallas Opera and the Santa Fe Opera.
As Opera News observes, “The phrase ‘an embarrassment of riches’ might have been invented to describe the combination of talents that belong to Ailyn Pérez … who truly seems to have it all.” Internationally celebrated, Pérez has been awarded the Metropolitan Opera’s Beverly Sills Artist Award, George London Foundation’s Leonie Rysanek Award, honors from the Loren L. Zachary Foundation, Opera Index, and the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation, and was the winner of the Richard Tucker Award in which she became the first Hispanic recipient in the award’s history. Pérez is a force to be reckoned with in the world of opera.
Ailyn Pérez is presented by the Santa Fe Opera as a part of the celebration of their 2024 Summer Gala. More information can be found here.
