Born in the countryside of western Mexico during the eighteenth century, mariachi blends Indigenous, Spanish, and African influences into one of the world’s most celebrated musical traditions. Brilliant trumpets, soaring violins, guitars, the spirited vihuela, and the resonant guitarrón create a rich tapestry of sound, while expressive vocals tell stories of love, faith, family, perseverance, and celebration.
