Sonia De Los Santos: Música 

In this delightful family show for all ages, Música celebrates women who make music and those who inspired Sonia (and her all-female bandmates) to become a musician-or “una música” en español. You’ll dance in and out of your seats as this playful band charts a joyful journey of Latin American rhythms ranging from festejo to cumbia to traditional Mexican folk. In this family friendly program, Latin Grammy nominee Sonia De Los Santos will perform new songs, as well as classics from her albums, Mi Viaje: De Nuevo Leon to the New York Island, ¡Alegría! and Esperanza. Called “one of the Latin Children’s music artists you should know” by Billboard, she has performed at renowned venues and festivals with her band such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Lollapalooza, The Getty Museum, and The National Gallery of Art. Born in Mexico, her songs are inspired by folkloric music from Latin America, as well as the North American folk traditions from the U.S. Sonia has been dedicated to performing family music since 2007.

Música celebra a las mujeres que hacen música y a quienes inspiraron a Sonia (y a sus compañeras de banda, todas mujeres) a convertirse en músicas. La banda invitará a la audiencia a cantar y bailar mientras recorren un alegre viaje de ritmos latinoamericanos que van desde el festejo hasta la cumbia y la música folclórica mexicana. En este programa familiar, la nominada al Latin Grammy Sonia De Los Santos interpretará nuevas canciones, así como clásicos de sus álbumes, Mi Viaje: De Nuevo León to The New York Island, ¡Alegría! y Esperanza. Llamada “una de las artistas de música infantil latina que debes conocer” por Billboard, se ha presentado en lugares y festivales de renombre con su banda, como Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Lollapalooza, The Getty Museum y la Galería Nacional de Arte. Nacida en México, sus canciones están inspiradas en el folclor latinoamericano como el huapango, la cumbia, la salsa y el festejo, así como en los ritmos folclóricos de los Estados Unidos. Sonia se dedica a interpretar música para familias desde 2007.
