Chanticleer
Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer has captivated audiences worldwide with its eclectic repertoire and extraordinary precision, earning praise from the Boston Globe for its “breathtaking” blend and style. Founded in 1978 in San Francisco by Louis Botto, the group has become one of the most prolific touring ensembles in the world—an “orchestra of voices” with over one million recordings sold.
Rooted in Renaissance music, Chanticleer’s repertoire spans classical, gospel, jazz, and popular styles, highlighted by its beloved annual holiday program A Chanticleer Christmas and an upcoming album, Joy to the World (Fall 2025). Known for championing new works and American composers, the ensemble has earned multiple Grammy Awards and national honors, including induction into the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry and recognition for its innovative programming and impactful education initiatives.
