Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime SFS Strata chamber concert during the final weekend of the Symphony’s 40th Anniversary Season! Presenting Grammy® Award winners Ana María Martínez and pianist Craig Terry, with Music Director Guillermo Figueroa on violin and The Santa Fe Symphony String Quartet.
Conceived of in 2019, the SFS Strata series evokes the layers of musical conversation seen in chamber music. Ana María Martínez is considered to be one of the foremost sopranos of her time, with an international career that spans the world’s most important opera houses and concert halls. Her repertoire encompasses opera’s most intriguing and diverse leading ladies, and she engages her audiences season after season with signature roles, spellbinding debuts, and a myriad of captivating recordings. She won a GRAMMY for Best Classical Album for Isaac Albéniz‘s opera Merlin.
Craig Terry has an international performance career and recently won a GRAMMY® Award for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album for the recording he made with Joyce DiDonato, Songplay. He has served as the Jannotta Family Endowed Chair music director of Lyric’s Ryan Opera Center since 2013, after having previously spent 11 seasons with the company as an assistant conductor.
