Director of Development
The Lensic Performing Arts Center seeks a full-time Director of Development to lead the organization’s fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will have an established background and proven track record of creating and executing successful fundraising plans, ideally with a nonprofit arts organization. This position reports to the managing director and executive director.
The Development Director will be responsible for managing a 3- to 5-person development team while leading annual campaigns (individual, corporate, and foundation giving) and launching a planned giving campaign. They will also assist the managing director in executing an endowment campaign.
Our ideal candidate must be able to communicate, socialize, and cultivate a wide range of supporters and patrons, including both board members and major donors, and have strong leadership and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects. Also required are budget management experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and previous experience with research and grant writing for foundations and corporations.
Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of fundraising and development experience. Prior experience and familiarity with Tessitura is preferred. This full-time position offers medical and retirement benefits. Salary will be commensurate with experience and the applicant’s track record of fundraising.
